About this bank
About
This site publishes measurable IEP goal examples for U.S. teachers, coordinators, and parents. Last updated October 5, 2026.
How the goals were written
Each example uses four parts: a condition, an observable behavior, a numeric criterion, and a time frame, plus two or three short-term objectives. Verbs such as understand, know, learn, and appreciate are rejected by an automated check. The student is always written as [Student].
Drafts were checked by a script for those rules and for duplicate wording. A second pass edited goals that were vague or a poor fit for the grade band. No teacher has reviewed the bank yet. The site does not describe the goals as expert-approved. If a reviewer is added later, this page will name that person.
